ii. Brief description of the Scheme
Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MOMSMET) has Launched a new Credit linked subsidy Programme called Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)on 61st anniversary of India's Independence day by merge ring scheme that were in operation till 31.3.2008 namely Rural employment generation Programme (REGP) and Prime Minister Rozgar Yozana (PMRY) for generation of employment opportunities through establishment of Micro Enterprises in rural as well as urban areas.PMEGP will be central sector Schemes to be administered by MSME.
The Subsidy Level under PMRGP are as under;

The upper limit of the Project Cost that could be set up in the manufacture sector is Rs25.00 Lacs while that in business/service is Rs.10,00 lacs.There are no sealing limit of annual income in respect of beneficiaries while as maximum education of VIII pass will be required for beneficiaries in respect of Project costing more than 10 lacs in manufacturing sector and more than Rs.5 lacs in business /Service sector .The beneficiary would be identified inter alia with the help of Panchayats, special awareness campus and will be provided with a mandatory Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP) training of a duration of two to three weeks

vi. How to apply :(Eligibility Conditions)
i.) Any individual above 18 years of age.
ii) There will be no sealing for setting up Project under PMEGP.
iii) Assistance under the scheme is available only for new projects sanctioned special PMEGP.
iv) For setting up of projects costing above Rs 10 lacs in manufacture sector and above 5 lacs in business/service sector the beneficiary should possess at least viii standard pass educational qualification.
v) Self help groups (including those belonging to BPL Provided that have not availed benefits under any other scheme) are also eligible for assistance under PMEGP.

Only one person from one family is eligible for obtaining financial assistance for setting up of project under PMEGP. The family includes self and spouse
