DIPR hosts cultural program on National Voters Day at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY-25: As part of the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav (India@75), Department of Information & Public Relations Cultural Wing, Jammu in collaboration with District Information Centre, Udhampur, today organized a cultural programme on National Voters Day in the premises of Delhi Public School Udhampur.

District Information Officer, Udhampur Rajinder Kumar Digra was the chief guest while Chairperson of the School Dr J C Gupta was the guest of honour on the occasion.

The programme was attended by MD, Vivek Gupta, Academic Director, Sucheta Gupta, Principal of the School, Dr Kunal Anand besides officials of the Information department.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the main objective of celebrating this day is to strengthen our democratic system by creating awareness among the young and future voters about the importance of their vote and hence involving their greater participation in the whole electoral system. He added that India is a big democratic country in the world every citizen of India has right to vote for greater participation of stronger democracy. The DIO urged all the participants to generate awareness among all the eligible voters present in their surroundings about the importance of their vote and ask them not to forget to cast their votes in the elections adding that the future of a nation depends on youths and their opinion in voting.

Chairperson of the host school, Dr J C Gupta presented welcome address and briefed about the importance of National Voters day. He appreciated the efforts of the Information Department for creating awareness through the cultural activities & urged the Department to hold more such events in the near future.

Artists of the Cultural Wing Jammu and District Information Centre, Udhampur, including Mohinder Panchairvi, Balbir Singh, Suresh Kumar, Amit Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Banti Shah, Rajid Bharderwahi, Mukesh Kumar presented a scintillating musical program featuring patriotic and Folk songs which was highly appreciated by everyone with repeated rounds of applause. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Suresh Kumar.
