CEO launch SVEEP campaign and Heritage trek to generate awareness for Voters at Panchari.
UDHAMPUR, NOVEMBER-29:- Chief Electoral Officer, J&K UT, Hirdesh Kumar today visit famous tourist village Panchari where he launched first awareness campaign on Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), along with heritage Trekking from Panchari to Patnitop for generating awareness among voters here at Tehsil Panchari of District Udhampur.
The programme was attended by BDC Chairman, Jeevan Sharma, DDC Councillor, Jasvir Singh, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi,CEO PDA Sher Singh, Deputy District Election Officer, Dr Shavi Sharma and other District and Sectoral officers besides PRIs of adjoining panchayats.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO said that the main objective of organising this campaign is to strengthen our democratic system by creating awareness among the young and future voters about the importance of their vote and hence involving them in the electoral process is of utmost importance for vibrant democracy. Stressing on the enrollment and registration of all the eligible voters of the district, the CEO urged all the participants to generate awareness among all the eligible voters in their surroundings areas and ask them not to forget to cast their votes adding that the future of a nation depends on youths and their opinion in voting.
He further said that India is a large democratic nation in the world every citizen of India has right to vote for making democracy stronger.
While highlighting the aim and objectives of the SVEEP is to create awareness among electors the importance of their participation and appealed them to turn up in greater numbers in the electoral process he added.
CEO called upon the youth to generate maximum awareness in their surrounding areas for making democracy a strong pillar for their better socio economic status. He asked people to use their right to vote for stronger democracy. The CEO directed the designated Officers for reaching out to every household and every voter in different ways for information dissemination and enrollment of voters as well as error free rolls. Awareness regarding the online services of the department were also provided

Later, the CEO also flagged off Heritage trek from Panchari and said that the Heritage walk / trek will passes through Sankri Devta, Ladha Dhar, Natha top and will finally culmiated at Patnitop.
