DC Udhampur reviews registration of Un-organized workers

UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 10: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib on Thursday reviewed the implementation and registration of un-organised workers on National data base for un-organised workers (NDUW), e- SHRAM portal here at a meeting of officers and Councillors here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.

The DC directed the officers of all the departments to register the Un-organized workers associated with their respective departments on an e-SHRAM portal to achieve the targets well on time. She asked the concerned officers to work close co-ordination to mobilize the target sub groups of Un-organized workers like MGNREGA workers, SHG members under NRLM and street vendors, Auto drivers, Agriculture labourers and Fishermen. The DC said that e-SHRAM portal launched by the Government is aimed at facilitating effective implementation of the social security schemes meant for Un-organized workers. She reiterated that the registration of workers on the portal will also greatly help in the outreach of social security schemes.

Earlier, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pardyot Gupta gave a brief about the functioning of e-SHRAM portal. He informed the chair that the Un-organized workers can go to the nearest CSC or can directly register themselves on the portal on their own.

The DC stressed the officers to hold registration camps at CSC level to facilitate the unorganized workers. She added that such awareness camps would prove helpful in disseminating information amongst the prospective beneficiaries.

President MC Dr Jogeshwar Gupta; PO ICDS, Attar Chand; GM DIC, Pankaj Anand; DIO, Rajinder Kumar Digra; DSWO, Nawaz Sharief and other officers besides Councillors were present in the meeting.
