Inspects facilities run by NGOs

UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER-24:- Director Social Welfare Department Jammu, Vivek Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of District Udhampur where she inspected the Asha school & the facilities run by Evergreen NGO and Hare Rama Hare Krishna.

During the visit, she also visited Bal ashram and Nari Niketan, and inquired about the facilities being provided to the inmates of these Ashrams.

While interacting with the children, she motivated them to work hard to achieve excellence in academics while keeping equal focus on extracurricular activities. She also impressed upon them to maintain a friendly and joyful environment in these child care institutes and treat co-inmates as their extended family.

Later, the Director took stock of the financial and physical achievements registered under various schemes including National Social Assistance Programme, Integrated Social Security Scheme, Pre matric/ Post Matric Scholarship Schemes, Grant in Aid for NGOs, State Marriage Assistance Scheme among others.
