UDHAMPUR, APRIL 20: Following the Common Minimum Programme provided by J&K Legal Services Authority, and under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Udhampur , Y.P. Bourney and overall Supervision of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur Rajni Sharma, a Legal Awareness Programme on NALSA (Compensation Scheme for Women Victims/Survivors of Sexual Assault and other Crimes) Scheme, 2018 and J&K Victim Compensation Scheme, 2019 was organized by District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur in collaboration with Govt. Higher Secondary School Panchari here today.

Panel Lawyers Advocate Sanjeet Kumar and Advocate Akhil Dubey were the Resource Persons for the Programme. The main purpose of this Awareness Programme was to sensitize the general masses, especially Women about the Compensation Scheme for Women Victims/Survivors of Sexual Assault and other Crimes) Scheme and J&K Victim Compensation Scheme, 2019.

The Resource persons threw light on all the provisions of the NALSA Scheme for Women Victims /Survivors and J&K Victim Compensation Scheme, 2019. They impressed upon the gathering especially Women Victims to come forward and approach Legal Services Institutions for redressal of their grievances. Two school students namely Pooja Sharma and Tamana Devi also spoke on the occasion.

The Secretary DLSA thanked the students for participating in the legal awareness programme. She asked the women victims to approach Legal Services Institutions as District Legal Services Authority Udhampur was duty bound to help the needy and distressed members of the society.

The programme was attended by Principal of the School Arunesh Kumar, Zonal Education Officer Gulzar Mohd., Station House Officer Panchari Pawan Dogra, Sarpanch Kuldeep Sharma, CDPO Supervisor Nisha Sharma and the students of Govt. Higher Secondary School Panchari.
