GDC Boys Udhampur observes Saheedi Diwas

UDHAMPUR, MARCH 23: As part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, the NSS Unit of Government Degree College (Boys), Udhampur today observed Saheedi Diwas in the College premises.

The event was organized under the guidance of the Principal Prof. Subhash Chander Sharma. The programme commenced with a symposium on the topic “Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh”. In all, 15 NSS Volunteers spoke on the subject.

Dr. Kawaljit Kour, Dr. Ravinder Kumar, Dr. Yash Pal Sharma acted as jury members. The first prize was bagged by Rupali of Semester-I, while second and third prizes were bagged by Master Vishal of Semester-5th and Master Amandeep of Semester-3rd, respectively.

The formal welcome address was presented by Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, NSS PO. The HoD Education Prof. Babu Lal Thakur, also congratulated the NSS Team and the volunteers for holding the tribute paying programme. Dr. Rippy Bawa, the NSS Programme Officer, presented the vote of thanks.

Later, a pledge-ceremony was followed by a rally on Patriotic theme. The other staff members present on the occasion were Prof. Shivani Sharma, Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Prof. Pardeep Singh, Prof. Rajan Bharti, Ruchika Sharma.
