Gram Swaraj Campaign: DC Udhampur attends Gram Sabha at Panchayat Thanoa

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 16: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib today visited Panchayat Thanoa of District Udhampur and attended a Gram Sabha under the Theme Gram Swaraj Campaign.

Sarpanches, Panches and general public of the area also participated in the Gram Sabha and put forth their demands and issues. Responding to the demands, the DC assured the public that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner. She asked the officers to take first hand appraisal of all the grievances of PRIs and redress the same on priority.

While highlighting the role of gram sabha she said that gram sabha being an important element of the Panchayati Raj system. The DC informed that the Government has launched various centrally sponsored flagship schemes for the welfare of the general public so that the public get benefits from all the schemes. She added that the aim of organizing such gram sabha is to create awareness among the common masses about various Government initiatives and schemes.
