The Department of Information and Public Relations is an interface between Government, media and people at large. The prime task of the Department is to disseminate information through social, print & electronic media, news, Success Stories and feature articles with close focusing on day to day happenings, developments, policies and programmes of the Government.
Main Activities:-Press coverage of VVIP/VIP’s and other awareness/developmental programme organization is one of the important aspect of the department and this touches the sky in this sector by providing wide publicity to day to day functions/programmes organized by the departments in disseminating the policies and welfare schemes. Besides some special events likelike Republic Day, Independence Day and local festivals in the district were also widely publicized by the department.
For reaching out large masses for the generation of awareness on social issues including communal Harmony, Drugs De-addiction, Child Abuse, Women Empowerment, BetiBachao, BetiPadhao, Swachchta, and also Socio-economic development issues such as health and hygiene, poverty alleviation, social welfare, JalJeevan Mission and many more, the department organized cultural activities by engaging local as well as renowned artists for dissemination of awareness on such schemes in rural and far flung areas of the district.
