About Us

Chenani is a town and Tehsil in the Udhampur District, in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir it was governed by a Municipal Committee. Prior 1947, it was a Jagir ruled by a Chandel Rajput.

The Notified Area Committee was established in 23 Nov 1967 (earlier) and converted into Municipal Committee Chenani in the year 2005 for providing the services to the general public and worked under the control of Directorate of Urban Local Bodies Jammu headed by the Housing & Urban Development department.
