UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 12: J&K Pollution Control Committee conducted Public hearing for the proposed Minor Mineral Block at Jaganoo.
The River Bed Material spread over an area of 9.47 hectare area upstream Jaganoo Bridge has been allotted to private persons as per the prescribed norms.
The hearing was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Sing Chib in presence of DMO Rajeev Jamwal; Divisional Officer J&KPCC, Deepak Abrol; Divisional Officer J&K PCC, S.K Tripathi.
A large number of people including ex- Sarpanches and Panches from adjoining villages participated in the proceedings. The views, suggestions and objections of the public were duly video graphed for submission to the Government.
The ADC assured that all aspects discussed at the public hearing would be implemented in a transparent manner.
Divisional Officer J&K PCC highlighted the importance of public hearings for such projects emphasizing that these forums provide a platform to local communities to voice their concerns and suggestions.
The District Mineral Officer assured that mining operations would be carried out strictly in accordance with environmental regulations and the approved mining plan.
