Udhampur: SWD organises awareness camp at Sunari UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY
UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 03: An awareness camp on Social Welfare Department schemes was today organised here at Panchayat Ghar, Sunari of District Udhampur.
District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta along with team of TSWO Tilak Raj and members of Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) conducted the camp attended by a large number of people from surrounding villages including Kambal, Danga and Hartyan.
The local people were educated about the various schemes of the department such as Pension scheme, Pre matric and Post matric scholarships, National Family Benefit Scheme(NFBS), State Marriage Assistance Scheme(SMAS) and others.
Identification of beneficiaries of different schemes of the department and their on the spot disposal was another important feature of the camp.
Several prosthetic aids such as Wheelchairs, hearing aids, Crutches were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
The MSK team comprising Jyoti and Sheetal sensitized the public about women centric schemes such as PMMVY, Tejasvini, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and others. The team laid special focus on educating the public about Sakhi- One Stop Centre for women.
Around 100 School bags were distributed among the BPL girl students under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
The DSWO assured that such type of camps would be organised at each and every Panchayat/village to promote social welfare schemes among the deserving people.
She also urged sarpanches and panches to facilitate the poor people by helping them to complete formalities for various forms and forward the same to the office of DSWO.
