World Earth day celebrated in schools of District Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, APRIL 22: Earth day was celebrated across all schools of the 11 zones of District Udhampur with great enthusiasm as per the Cultural Calendar issued by DSEJ.
The ZICC coordinated different activities on the Earth day which includes Poster making, Painting, Debates, Seminars, Symposium, and Quiz Competition etc.
A total 698 schools participated in these activities covering 4087 students. The theme of this year’s World Earth Day 2022 is ‘Invest in our Planet’ calling for businesses to shift towards sustainable practices. This movement is expected to change the business climate, the political climate, and how to take the action on the climate. Plantation activities were also carried out in various schools by involving all the staff members and various Medicinal and Ornamental plants were planted with in the school premises.
It is pertinent to mention that the School Education Department has initiated a series of programs to Save the Earth from Deforestation to Save water by involving the students to inculcate in them the spirit of Love for Nature.
IEC activities and awareness campaign was also conducted to Save Earth on the occasion of Earth Day.
DICC Rakesh Singh has also motivated and exhorted to all the ZICC’s/SNO’s to aware the students and society to save the Forest in order to make the Planet green as forest cover in India is less than What is expected optimum.
All the activities were carried out under the supervision of Chief Education Officer Udhampur, Arvin Kumar Koul who regularly visits the different institution and always ask the staff members to do more and more plantation in their institutions in order to improve the beautification of their schools which is prerequisite to Save Earth.
